Como Memory Bank

Historically, Como was made up of three land grants that were purchased by Edmund Hugh Comer in 1891. Fourteen years later, in 1905, this land was then subdivided as Como Estate.

      1951-current period

      • I grew up in Mt Henry and my grandparents lived on Lockhart Street so we used to spend a fair bit of time around Como. My fondest memory of the area was when we did swimming lessons at the Como jetty. This was during the school holidays and there were always hundreds of kids around. At that time, there were baths at the end of the jetty which have since been removed.
